Tools and Notes from the Field

TSI has had excellent results with the following tools. Depending on your particular skill level, results with these tools may be mixed. Always consider first contracting a professional when working on mission-critical hardware including network servers and corporate workstations/laptops.

Experts Exchange
www.experts-exchange.comFor a minimal paid annual subscription you can end the madness to some of your more challenging IT questions by searching here. TSI has been a member since 1997.

Google
www.google.com
Best search engine, hands down.
Petri IT Knowledgebase
“www.petri.co.il”
Awesome how-to articles!
Microsoft Support
www.microsoft.com
Microsoft support site. Provided for your convenience. A frustrating experience at times.
HP
http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-drivers.htmldlink.com
We still prefer HP Laserjet printers and often require a driver or two from HP’s driver website.  TSI does not recommend muti-function units as dependable business printing solutions
Dell
support.dell.com
The most easily navigable support site for Dell computer hardware.  Quickly find an updated software driver in seconds flat.  HP and Lenovo can’t compete with this webpage design.
Tom’s Hardware
tomshardware
Bleeding edge reviews on hardware and software. Put some fun back into your IT world and check out articles on gaming and overclocking (TSI does not endorse overclocking workstations)
Mozilla Firefox
Mozilla Firefox
A critical browser we use as default but also for getting that second opinion when having issues with Microsoft Internet Explorer. We recommend having the latest version installed on your workstations and laptops as a backup to Microsoft Internet Explorer when troubleshooting web pages and general internet connectivity
